I live for travel and adventures. Exploring new cities and meeting new people fills my heart with so much joy. This year has definitely been named the year of travel for a reason! I have visited over a dozen different cities I have never been to, spent more time at the airport than I ever have before, and made it to two countries on my international travel wishlist! The beautiful city of Toronto always intrigued me and I wanted to start my Canadian experience there!
After meeting Toronto’s two Rising Tide Society leaders in Charleston for the Leaders Retreat, I knew I wanted to visit them! Jenn of Jenn Kavanagh Photography and Hattie of Hattitude Jewellery graciously took me in and shared their beautiful city with me. They introduce me to not only the most amazing places, but also the most wonderful people! I met with one of their RTS members, Sonja, who hosts an incredible retreat called Nurture: A Retreat. It’s for female entrepreneurs that seeks to nourish their creative & nurturing self through creative workshops, intimate fellowship & an intentional commitment to supporting their own unique journeys. Seriously, how amazing is that?! Sonja showed me her favorite parts of downtown and shared some awesome insight on the history of Toronto.
Even though I had lovely companions throughout my trip, I also made time to explore alone. I think there is something unbelievably uplifting and fulfilling about taking in a city by yourself, if only for a day. Discovering new sights and sounds, trying new foods, striking up conversations with the people you meet along the way; you’ll be surprised and delighted so many times. It’s the best way to truly experience a new place for yourself!
Traveling makes the world feel like a much smaller place yet it opens your mind to other ways of life. It takes you out of your own daily world and offers an amazing view into the lives of others. It helps you appreciate the everyday where you might take it for granted. Each new place is unique and can offer you something different. I absolutely LOVED my time in Toronto! This city was full of the friendliest people, delicious food, beautiful views, and so many fun things to do. I could have spent a month here and still would have wanted to stay. Hopefully, I can visit again soon.
Until next time, I have my iPhone snaps from my journey to remind me of all the fun times we had!
Even the walkways in Toronto are gorgeous!!
I made it to Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada!! I love all those adorable little sea creatures!
More adorable sea creatures! My favorite was the sting ray!

Hattie’s home was too cute and snuggling with her cat was the best!
