When you think of a Winter wedding in Wisconsin, you imagine lots of snow and below freezing temperatures. So when Carly and Justin told me they were getting married in January, we all prepped for these chilly conditions. Their big day finally arrived and we never expected the heat wave that came through the week before! It felt more like a lovely Spring day and you couldn’t find a trace of snow anywhere! Though they were hoping for a winter wonderland wedding, Carly and Justin can roll with absolutely anything and they still made the most out of their special day.
This entire day felt like the perfect mix of bohemian whimsy, elegance, and fun! Bridesmaids wore mismatched navy dresses to match the men’s charcoal gray suits. Carly looked absolutely beautiful as a bride in a custom long-sleeved lace dress. Her stunning floral crown and matching Tarte berry lipstick helped tie her gorgeous look together! Rustic Manor 1848 was decorated beautifully with tons of candles, gold accents, and eucalyptus at every table. My favorite detail of the day just had to be the sweet little mugs that served as favors for all of the guests!
Congratulations Carly & Justin! I loved photographing your Engagement Session and it was such an honor to come back and document your beautiful wedding day! I wish you two a wonderful marriage and a lifetime full of love and happiness!
Carly’s dress is absolutely stunning! So in love with the lace sleeves!
Carly is a teacher and her students surprised her with cards congratulating her!
The girls got ready in Carly’s childhood home. Old photos of her and her sister hung on the walls, their dogs followed everyone around, and her friends shared stories about how they would spend time at this house in high school. You could just feel that this home is full of amazing memories! I love when people choose to get ready in special places.
Carly had custom tanks made and personalized for each bridesmaid to represent their friendship. Carly’s shirt is my favorite though, “If the love doesn’t feel like 90’s R&B, I don’t want it”
Their reactions to seeing Carly in her dress are everything!!
Oh Carly’s dad! He had me crying all day!
Married! Woohoo!
You could not ask for a better bridal party! Everyone was so sweet and fun!
The Newlyweds, Mr. & Mrs. Hertel!
Seriously, how cute are they?! I cannot get over their adorable smiles and their genuine love for one another!
Colectivo Coffee breaks during portraits is always a good idea!
This was my first time shooting at Rustic Manor 1848 and I must say I fell in love with it!
Carly did all the lettering on the cute chalkboards!
After the speeches, Carly’s sister surprised her with a choreographed dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Carly is a huge Michael Jackson fan and she was completely shocked when her family and friends joined in on the dance!
Thanks to all the amazing wedding vendors that helped make Carly & Justin’s big day wonderful!
