Hand-in-hand, family members circled the beautiful bride in the middle of the dance floor. Aunts and female cousins walked and swayed around her as the sweet sound of Anita Baker’s “You Bring Me Joy” played in the background. Tears started rolling down their faces as the DJ explained what was happening. “This is your family, Monique,” he said. “Strong women that will be by your side whenever you need advice, comfort, or help. Being a wife is a beautiful thing but there will be times you will need to ask for help. Call on these women, they are here for you.” As the song ended, everyone gathered in closer, laying hands on one another. They began to pray a special prayer for the newly married couple, Monique and Andrew.
The journey to Monique and Andrew’s wedding day started back in 2013 when these two first met. Even though Monique lived in Charlotte and Andrew resided in Atlanta, fate brought them together. After those two years of long-distance dating, Monique made the move and now the two proudly call Atlanta their home. They try to make the most out of everyday. They love exploring new places but it was somewhere much more familiar where this couple decided to spend the rest of their lives together.
Andrew proposed on the day after Christmas! They celebrated this beautiful holiday with Monique’s family. As her grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins were about to leave, Andrew started shouting “Wait! Before you all go, I have one last Christmas present for Monique.” Everyone erupted in screams as Andrew walked into the room carrying a small black box. He got down on one knee and said “Monique, will you marry me?” Monique, in pure shock, just stood there as her family pushed her closer. She nodded repeatedly and didn’t speak a word until her sister, Stephanie, said “Monique, say something!” After continuing to nod, still in shock, Monique finally said, “Of course! Yes!”
After just a few short months of planning, these two said “I do” in front of their family and friends in the beautiful Noble Victory Chapel at St. John’s Northwestern Academy. Inspired by the elegance of 1920’s, Monique and her family planned the most beautiful Gatsby-esque wedding! Stunning mauve and champagne colored accents, ornate invitations, big floral bouquets, and custom-made details like the ribbon wands and newspaper styled programs Andrew designed all came together wonderfully. Those pretty details helped add so much beauty to their already amazing day!
Congratulations Monique and Andrew!! Here’s to a lifetime full of adventures, exploration, and love!
I’m obsessed with their invitations! They are amazing!!
Andrew designed these newspaper programs and Monique wrote the articles inside!

The beautiful Seven Seas!
My favorite part of the reception. Monique’s aunts and cousins gathered around her to symbolize that if she ever needs help or advice, they will always be there for her! They then prayed a special prayer for her and Andrew!
