As a creative business owner, not every day is full of girl boss moments, completed to-do lists, and clear inboxes. For a long time, the majority of my days would be spent hunched over my desk, in my yoga pants, eyes bloodshot from staring at the computer screen all day. I became so accustomed to living like this that I thought this was how it would always be. To me, this was a creative’s life. A lonely life. But everything started to shift when I saw this:
“Our goal is simple: we want to inspire the hearts of like-minded creatives. We want you to know that you’re not alone. Our motto of ‘Here’s to the Creatives’ reminds us to stand proud under a banner of community; to hold out a hand to your neighbor, to share & give & help & love. You see, it’s always, always better when we’re together.”
After reading that mission from the Creative At Heart Conference, my obsession with them grew! Those words spoke to my spirit and drew me in so close. It became my goal over the next few months to make it to Denver to attend this conference. Luckily, the timing and my schedule worked out perfectly and I made it there this past week!! I excepted to learn new things, but I never expected this conference would change my life for the better.
48 hours, 16 incredible speakers, over 50 pages of notes, two amazing dinners, one beautiful city, and a fantastically fun pajama party all combined to make my Creative at Heart Conference experience an unforgettable one. With each new speaker I dug deeper into my truth and my goals as a business owner. I jotted down notes like a mad woman, hoping to soak up all their wisdom and expertise. I cried when they shared their own experiences with isolation and hardship. I met other attendees who were so welcoming and full of kindness. I watched as founder and visionary of Creative at Heart, Kat Schmoyer, and her amazing team poured their heart and soul into this event to make it succeed perfectly.
I left Denver full of knowledge, inspiration, and a reignited fire for my business. I am beyond thankful for the amazing speakers and panelists who took their time to chat with all of the attendees. They really opened their hearts and shared so much of themselves with us. I’m eternally grateful for this conference and I hope I can make it to the next one happening this November in Memphis, Tennessee.
HUGE THANK YOU to the AMAZING Speakers who inspired and motivated me beyond words!!
