Some of you may or may not know but I love decorating and creating pieces for my home! When I’m not shooting, I’m spending most of my time at home so I like it to look super cute and represent my personality. Whether it’s finding vintages pieces, purchasing little nick-knacks, or trying to actually make something, I’m always looking for ways to improve my home.
There is a little space in my kitchen that I never knew what to do with. It’s like a weird little desk on a small wall. I’m sure it would come in handy if you wanted a workspace there but that’s just not for me. Since we rent, knocking it down was out of the question so I had to get creative. With a little brainstorming and gathering supplies, I came up with a great idea…
An adorable little Coffee Bar!
It made so much sense! I absolutely love drinking coffee and tea (I have at least two cups a day) and making a little area dedicated to it sounded perfect. To get started, I bought a piece of plywood from Home Depot, had them cut it to the size of the wall then I covered it in chalkboard paint. While that was drying, Kyle cut up an old pallet we had laying in the garage to create our shelf. When he was finished, I sanded and stained the shelf to really bring out the beautiful color and get rid of those sharp, pointy edges. As soon as everything was dry and ready we screwed everything to the wall. After waiting the recommended three days, I drew on our new “chalkboard” and filled the rest of the area will all my goodies. And just like that, we had ourselves an awesome coffee bar!
Now my “LOVE” mugs from Anthropologie can be displayed proudly!
I even went out and bought a Keurig! I have never owned one before because I have always loved brewing full pots of coffee, but now that I have it I’m hooked! I’m so excited to have people over so I can use this coffee bar for others besides myself. (:
And here’s a little Before & After for your viewing pleasure. Wow, what a difference!
