Happy Monday friends! While I was visiting Charleston two weeks ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph some new friends. I met the beautiful owners, Olivia and Sara, behind the adorable online shop, Shop Mondays, and the incredible blogger, Kelsey of Chasing Cinderella. They were as sweet as can be! For our shoot, they wore cute dresses from Shop Mondays and stunning floral crowns they made with CeCe Designs. We frolicked on Folly Beach in South Carolina and made the happiest of photos! Even though it was unusually chilly outside, we had the best time!

I loved meeting these sweet women! This week that ladies at Shop Mondays surprised me by naming an adorable blue tunic in their shop after me!! How sweet is that?! I cannot wait to purchase it and wear it proudly!

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit one of my favorite cities again, Charleston. The brightly colored buildings, the delicious food, the beautiful churches, and all the history just makes me fall in love with this charming city all over again! I adore traveling alone. It’s fun to just wake up and explore, not knowing where you are going and what your plans are, just snapping photos with your iPhone as you go. You just let the city guide you.

Not only did I get to explore historic Charleston but I also spent time in Folly Beach. A group of incredible creatives and entrepreneurs gathered for a weekend retreat full of learning, laughing, and fun. It was a privilege to speak at this retreat and share my knowledge with all the awesome attendees! They are the reason I keep doing what I’m doing. They are the reason I got SO much out of this weekend. I loved helping them and I can’t wait to continue to cheer them on and watch their businesses grow!

What I loved most about this trip were the people. We bonded over mimosas, walks on the beach, and late night chats snuggled together in the living room. I made lifelong friendships that I definitely didn’t expect to make but I’m SO happy I did. For today’s Fresh Brewed Friday, I’m sharing my behind-the-scenes adventures from this unforgettable trip!

Here’s to you, Charleston! Every time I leave, you always pull me back in. Until next time!

Favorite little coffee shop, Black Tap Coffee!

Can we get a pineapple fountain in Green Bay, please?

The food for our weekend was professionally made for us by Elizabeth & Shannon! They did a fabulous job and I’m still craving their delicious meals!

They had the cutest pink flamingo lights outside. They were definitely my favorite.

The amazing CeCe Designs taught us how to make floral crowns! Still wish I could have brought mine on the plane.

I loved speaking about one of my favorite subjects, blogging! I also enjoyed listening to our other speakers like Kay + Bee Photo, Christy Nicole Photography, and many more!

Thanks for a whirlwind of a week, ladies! This is definitely a trip I’ll never forget!

Yesterday my worst fear happened. I made a commitment to something and I couldn’t keep it. It’s one of the biggest things that I worry about, keeping my word and my promise. Follow through plays a huge role in my life and I absolutely hate to let people down. Seriously, I cannot sleep when I know I think I may have disappointed someone. But yesterday came and went and I couldn’t keep my commitment. But guess what? I felt 100% fine! Why? Because of my team, that’s why!

Our monthly TuesdaysTogether took place last night and even though I’m the leader, I couldn’t be there. I was flying back from a retreat in Charleston and my flight was cancelled due to inclement weather. ALL flights were cancelled. Snow fell for hours so the possibility of driving on those icy roads was out of the question. There was no way I could make it back. I felt stuck and helpless. But then I reached out to my amazing RTS chairs, Brooke and Sarah, and asked them if they wouldn’t mind leading the meetup so we didn’t have to cancel. They said, “Of course! We’ve got it, girl!” and they did just that! Their positive responses moved me to tears of joy! The meetup was still on and our group still had an amazing time!

Because of them, I didn’t have to stress about things I couldn’t control. I could focus on finding a new flight (and a place to sleep for the night!) Because of them, I didn’t freak out and have to cancel everything. The Shaunae from last year would have overanalyzed the situation and felt SO awful about not being there, even though I couldn’t control it. Because of them, I had peace.

It’s okay to let people into your world. If you need help on a project or in your business or in your personal life, it’s perfectly fine to reach out. When you bring in people you trust and care about what you care about, you can stop white-knuckling everything and just be. Life happens and having a team by your side allows you to go with the flow. As they say in High School Musical said, “We’re all in this together!” Team work makes the dream work, so let’s help make your dreams work today!
