Emily and Zach met at work not too long ago. They were both sterile processing technicians at St. Vincent Hospital and they worked together almost everyday. Zach had recently moved to Green Bay from Dothan, Alabama and Emily became one of his first friends in town. Emily remembers the first time she saw Zach, “I thought he was cute, had a big personality, and was a great story teller. I was immediately drawn to him!”
Soon the two started dating and it wasn’t long for both of them to realize they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. As Zach recalls, “I knew she was the one I wanted to be with when I realized not only was she the person I could get advice from and use her shoulder to lean on but also my best friend and the person that truly makes me happy.”
Zach proposed on Christmas. While they were at their apartment, busy opening gifts and taking in the merriment of the holiday, Zach told Emily he had one more surprise gift for her. The two keep a love journal where they can write little notes to each other (so cute, I know!) and on that Christmas, Zach handed Emily the journal. Inside, he had written a sweet letter to her about how much he loves their relationship and their life together. Emily tried to read the letter out loud but she could not, her emotions overtook her and she had tears in her eyes from how sweet and thoughtful the letter was. At the end of the letter, Zach wrote “will you marry me?” and when Emily looked up at him to respond, he was holding an engagement ring for her, his grandmother’s original engagement ring from 53 years ago! That ring represented the love of Zach’s grandparents and now will be passed on to represent the love between Emily and Zach. Shocked, speechless, and sobbing, Emily still managed to say, “YES!”
Now, they are planning their wedding for this July and I know it’s going to be as amazing and unique as them. But before they say, “I do,” we all met at Green Isle Park for their beautiful spring-inspired Engagement Session. The trees were just starting to bloom and the entire park looked so magical in that sweet sunset glow. I loved watching Emily and Zach interact with each other (almost as much as I loved listening to Zach’s thick Southern accent); they are constantly laughing, smiling, and always trying to get the other to laugh. It’s not too hard to see these two are perfect for each other!
Thanks to Alissa Kristine for Emily’s beautiful hair and make-up!
Emily is from Green Bay and Zach is from Alabama so they each wore a hoodie representing the other’s city! Aww!
