The kitchen is such a special place to me. There is a door off to the side that I always use to enter my house so the kitchen is the first room I see whenever I return home. Every time I slide the vintage door back, I’m filled with so much joy! This charming and bright little kitchen makes me so happy. It’s not the biggest kitchen in the world (which is perfect because my dining room is MASSIVE) but it’s the perfect size for me.
Here is where I do all my meal prep, cooking, baking, and start all my mornings. Each day, I walk into this room, eyes still tired from sleeping, and make a cup of coffee. As it’s brewing, I soak in the beautiful morning light that shines through. I peek out into my backyard and check on my garden. As soon as the coffee is ready and the cats are fed, I leave to meditate and plan for the day ahead. I always take one last look before I exit this room and smile.
I love that my kitchen is mostly black and white. Using mints, blues, and grays as accent colors make this space feel calm and soothing. It’s the perfect match for when I’m relaxing as I cook.
I’m obsessed with my wreath from Magnolia Market!
All the furniture in my kitchen was found at yard sales or antique shops. Since my home is over a hundred years old, I like to find older items to bring that historic past to light. Like these two art prints that showcase what Downtown Green Bay looked like in the early 1900’s.
My favorite find just has to be my sliding door! I found it at a yard sale for next to nothing. I just purchased the hanging hardware for Home Depot and now my kitchen is full of character! The bell on the door still works too!
Cooking in this kitchen is fun, but baking is even better!
These skeleton keys actually open doors in my home! How cool is that?!
