Standing in the living room of her childhood home and her grandparents home before that, Molly slipped into her wedding dress. Her bridesmaids, younger siblings, and mother helped her get ready. They skillfully buttoned the back of her dress and gracefully slid her shoes into place. Soon, Molly would walk out the backdoor of this old farmhouse and marry Matt, the man of her dreams right in the backyard where she had spent so much time playing in growing up.
She held her father’s arm as he held back tears of joy. This was his first child to get married. They made the walk from the house to the burlap aisle runner that laid in the grass. The sounds of Elvis’s “Love Me Tender” played in the background as they began their journey down the aisle. Friends and family enveloped this yard turned ceremony site, taking up all the seats and standing wherever they could find a spot. There was no way they would miss Molly and Matt say, “I do.”
Once they were officially husband and wife, we jumped in a truck and took the five minute drive to a beautiful piece of farmland. This land was special. This was their land. They had recently purchased it earlier in the year and soon they would build a home on it. 125 acres stretched for as far as the eye could see and soybeans that Matt planted over Mother’s Day took up about 85 of those acres. We explored this beautiful space, just the three of us. Molly and Matt embraced one another every chance they got. And as they held each other, on Day One of their marriage, I couldn’t help but think of all the future days, months, and years they would be spending together, making memories, at that exact spot.
From their Engagement Session to their beautiful backyard barn wedding, I absolutely loved spending time with these two! They are so sweet and kind! Congratulations Molly and Matt! Here’s to lifetime full of amazing memories!

This barn belongs to Molly’s parents. Molly’s grandparents owned this home and barn first and started dances in the barn back in the 1980’s. They carried the tradition for years, even after Molly’s parents took over the house and farm and the grandparents moved down the road. It was at a barn dance a few years ago that Molly and Matt met for the first time.
Between the handwork of Molly, Matt, and their family and friends, they completely remodeled the inside of the barn! Molly’s father made the mason jar chandeliers and the mason jar lights above the bar! Matt made the “spool” tables around the bar and outside. They worked together on building the top of the bar too! Seriously, it all turned out SO beautiful!!
Time to party!!
Thanks to all the amazing friends, family, and vendors that helped make Molly & Matt’s big day wonderful!
