As many of you know, travel is very important to me. I cannot imagine a life just sitting in one place. I long for exploration, adventure, and discovering new places. It’s why this past week was so very special to me. Over the last seven days I finally made it to Europe and explored a city I’ve always dreamed of visiting – Paris, France.
With my sister and my two good friends by my side, we made it to Paris. Our hearts ready and our minds open to the new possibilities, we explored as much as we could with each passing day. From cute cafes, delicious crepes, stunning architecture, beautiful artwork, decadent macarons, and the many cups of espresso consumed – everything about this city fills my heart with so much joy. With each new restaurant we visited, landmark we admired, or exhibition was saw, I felt as if my mind was expanding to take in all the beauty. Now as I sit here, back in America, comfortable in my own home, I can’t help but miss Paris and all of it’s many wonders. Hopefully I’ll return sooner rather than later.
For today’s Fresh Brewed Friday, I’m sharing a behind-the-scenes look at all my adventures in the City of Love.
Our adorable little Airbnb!
The Louve truly is as breathtaking as you could imagine.
The same bridge my husband, Leonardo DiCaprio, stood at during the filming of Inception.
The Eiffel Tower definitely has a piece of my heart now.
I still cannot grasp the massive beauty that is Palace of Versailles.
Macarons for days from Laduree! I even brought some back to America!
The first time I cried in Paris was when I walked through Notre-Dame Cathedral. Between the sheer artistry and craftsmanship to the unspoken spiritual waves tugging at my heart, I couldn’t help but sniffle my way through. As we walked inside, we were greeted by the beautiful sounds of a choir as the smell of candles and holy water hung in the air. I lit a candle for my grandmother who lights a candle for me every single day.
I loved visiting Montmartre to watch all the painters create pieces of artwork. I even purchased a few for my home.
Seriously, you can never have enough macarons!
I could picnic at the Eiffel Tower every single day!
Au revoir, Paris. Until next time.
Hi Shaunae!
Hubby and I are going to be in Paris next month (my second time, his first)! I would love to hear all the places you ate at! It’s been over 4 years since I last went and wish I could recall all the great places I ate at.
Thanks,
Elisebeth
