There are trips you take for work. There are trips you take to do absolutely nothing. Then there are trips where everyday is new, exciting, and full of adventure. My trip this past week to the Central Coast of California was just like that. I had a plan to head west and just figure it out when I got there. I knew I wanted to travel down the Pacific Coast Highway, to take in the breathtaking views and just trust that I would end up where I needed to be. It felt so liberating to just GO.
I did end up exactly where I was supposed to be. From San Jose, Monterey, Carmel-by-the Sea, San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, and every beautiful little town in between – I soaked up as much of the central coast as I could. For six days my life consisted of hiking, paddle boarding, wine tasting, enjoying beach bonfires, sharing heartfelt conversations with friends, devouring clam chowder, visiting aquariums, and walking until my feet couldn’t take it anymore. It’s trips like this that remind me how much I love to travel.
Life is all about new experiences. Traveling, exploring, adventuring. Soaking in each and every single moment because everything feels so fresh, so exhilarating, so different. I couldn’t imagine a life without travel, discovering new things about the world and new things about myself. It’s the best feeling!
Below are some iPhone snapshots from my journey on the West Coast! I cannot wait to return!
