On Monday, the Green Bay Rising Tide Society chapter came together to truly make waves and make a difference in our community. When you join a group of creative entrepreneurs it’s easy to stick to the “old” ways of doing things. Promoting yourself, handing out business cards, and constantly looking out for any referral that could come your way. But that way of life isn’t fulfilling, it’s a constant race to help only yourself and that’s not what life is about. Life is about sharing your gifts to help others.
That’s the beauty of RTS and this group. These women who joined me to volunteer their time at Paul’s Pantry truly embody Community Over Competition. They aren’t trying to get anything out of this, they simply WANT to help because it’s the RIGHT thing to do. We donated over a hundred canned goods and spent the morning sorting food. Paul’s Pantry serves over 4000 families in the Northeast Wisconsin area with 150-200 families shopping there for free food daily! Everything at this food pantry is based on generous donations and fabulous volunteers so they can serve as many people as possible so no one will go hungry.
I am so proud of our volunteers! They opened their hearts and made time in their schedules to give back. The world needs more selfless people like these AWESOME women. Seriously, I could just cry thinking about how grateful I am that they showed up to help. You ladies seriously rock and I’m honored to call you all my friends!
Take the time to give back! Because when you are blessed with more, it’s your responsibility to give more. There are so many ways you can help the community, explore your options and pick the one that best works for you.
