After their amazing and unique Engagement Session, I just knew Jordan and Shawn’s wedding was going to be one for the books. This wedding is full of my favorite things – wonderful friends getting married, beautiful details and one GORGEOUS island! Jordan and Shawn were married on a lovely day in August on Washington Island. Their friends and family traveled from all across the state (and country!) to witness these two commit to loving each other forever and sharing the rest of their lives together.
Washington Island has always played a special part in Jordan and Shawn’s life. Jordan’s family is from the island, dating all the way back to the early 1900’s when her great grandparents settled there. Her great grandfather worked as a lighthouse keeper on Plum and Pilot Island. Nowadays, her parents reside on the west side of the Island on Roberts’ Bluff that stands 75 feet high. Jordan and Shawn have been vacationing on the island together since 2003 so it only made sense to get married right on the edge of the bluff, where they have spent so many wonderful times there before.
The details for this beautiful day were well thought out and fit the couple’s personalities perfectly. Shawn made all the signage himself using a CNC router. He also used a 3D printer to make fantastic cookie cutters in the shape of Washington Island with their wedding date on them! These cookie cutters were paired with little jars filled their favorite tea (they love tea and Shawn’s parents own a coffee shop in Waukesha, where the happy couple would spend a lot of time together) to serve as wonderful wedding favors for all the guests! Even though I loved all the beautiful flowers, the bright corals of the bridesmaids’ dresses, Jordan’s stunning wedding gown; my favorite detail of all were Jordan and Shawn’s gold wedding rings. They are over a hundred years old and they were passed down from Shawn’s great-aunt, Bernie! How cool is that?!
Congratulations Jordan & Shawn! I am over-the-moon happy for you both and I’m so honored I could spend this magical day with you! Thank you so very much for sharing this beautiful island with us all!
Jordan once told me she owned over 200 pairs of shoes! I knew her wedding shoes would be amazing and she did not disappoint! Just look at those beauties!
Jordan is STUNNING!
Everyone signed their names on the bottom of Jordan’s shoes for good luck.
A little first look! Still as sweet as ever!
Schoolhouse Beach on the island is beautiful! I just adore all the rocks and the clear blue water!
The view from Roberts Bluff! Breathtaking!
Jordan and Shawn’s dog, Charlee, just HAD to be a part of the wedding!

The famous Nelsen’s Hall – one of the longest running bars in America and home of the Bitters Club!
