As you may know, I’m OBSESSED with Pure Barre! I started taking classes this past December and I fell in love with it’s upbeat music and fast-paced movements. Going to “the Barre” is one of the only workout routines (besides yoga) that I actually ENJOY doing. Every time I leave a class, I feel energized and excited. With every class my body gets stronger and it just feels happier! I never thought I would be one of those people who loved to exercise but I finally am!
I met the owner of Pure Barre Green Bay, Brooke, last summer when she moved back to Wisconsin with her family. She attended many of our Rising Tide Society meetups and we became fast friends. In November, when she opened Pure Barre, I watched her instruct dozens of women in class and you could just feel how much she loves what she does! She is a great teacher, instructor, and friend and she is passionate about helping people feel confident in their own skin!
I meet with brides so early in the wedding planning process, they always ask me for fitness tips or classes they can go to in order to get healthy, strong, and fit for the big day! Since I had such a great experience, I’m honored to share with them how I fell in love with Pure Barre. Brooke was kind enough to sit down with me and tell me more about her journey into Pure Barre, her love of fitness, and her passion for helping brides look and FEEL great on their wedding day.
When did you start your business?
I took my first Pure Barre class in 2012 and have been hooked ever since! I eventually became a teacher when living in Savannah, Georgia and then decided to open my own. We opened this past November at our Green Bay studio location.
What interested you about your craft? Why start your own business?
I am a fitness fanatic and have always enjoyed health and fitness. I graduated with a degree in exercise science and knew teaching Pure Barre was my calling. What interested me so much about Pure Barre is the results! I found an exercise routine that really worked for me and had to share it with Green Bay!! I also enjoy the community of women Pure Barre brings together. I have met incredible people and established relationships I would have not if it wasn’t for Pure Barre and the empowering group of women it brings together.
What kind of schooling/training have you had?
I have a degree in exercise science and physical wellness from Tennessee Technological University and I am trained in the Pure Barre technique.
What are some of your unique offerings?
We offer Pure Barre classes each and every day, which is a 55 minute workout focusing on each part of the body and work it to fatigue. Pure Barre is all about 1 inch movements and is high intensity, but very low impact. We use a ballet barre for support and balance, yet you do not need any dance experience to do Pure Barre! Classes are lead by an instructor and are driven by fun and new music. We also offer a variety of intensive classes quarterly such as “Full Body Burn,” “Hard Core Abs ” and a client favorite, “Bring on the Men”.
Favorite part of weddings (or the wedding planning process?)
We love our brides! Each bride has such a unique story and we love being a part of their preparation for their big day. I think my favorite part is when I get to see their excitement of taking classes and see their body change as the days get closer to the wedding. There is nothing better than helping a bride feel confident as she walks down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams!
Favorite business experience?
Being able to connect and build relationships with my clients is what I look forward to each day. I truly enjoy challenging my clients in class and help them get to their goals and then after class striking up conversations and getting to know them and their life on a different level. I really enjoy being a part of that and their Pure Barre experience.
What is in store for Pure Barre Green Bay’s future?
Pure Barre is ever-changing and I look forward to developing my teaching staff in further training and bring home more tricks to our studio. Stay tuned for new and exciting moves to come to Pure Barre to keep everyone on their toes.
Tell us more about Brooke!
– I am married to my husband, Tate, of 3 years.
– We have a daughter, miss Elle Leighton.
– Tate is originally from outside of Nashville, Tennessee and is new to Green Bay and the “Frozen Tundra.” Thankfully, Tate is a Packer fan and is adjusting to the north and our cold winter weather.
– Tate and I love to spend time with our family up at our family’s cottage on the weekends. When we are not up north, we enjoy spending time in the city, trying out local restaurants and breweries.
– Moving back to Green Bay has been a fun experience and we love trying new things and meeting new people!
