It’s no secret, I’m completely obsessed with Christmas! It’s my absolute favorite holiday and I celebrate this season for as long as I can. Baking delicious treats, sitting by the fire with hot cocoa in hand, and watching my favorite Christmas movies like Elf, Home Alone, White Christmas, or The Santa Clause are all some of my beloved holiday traditions.
But one of the best parts of this season is decorating my home with wonderful holiday pieces. This was always my favorite part while growing up. We called it getting the house ready for Santa. My sister and I would help my mom carefully put ornaments on the tree and find special places for all our favorite reindeer and snowman. Our home always felt so magical after we finished decorating. Now I’m thrilled that I get to carry on this tradition at my own home.
My three Christmas trees are up. The stockings (including the ones for my cats, Alexander and Clementine) are hung on the mantle. The cushy, holiday pillows lay perfectly on the couch. My vintage treasures match wonderfully with my newer finds. Every piece of holiday decor that I’ve been collecting for years has it’s own special place. My entire 1890 Colonial house feels as if it stepped out of a Hallmark Christmas movie and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love spreading holiday cheer and I cannot wait for the next The Rising Tide Society meetup and my second annual STP Holiday Party so I can share this home with all my favorite people.
