Chelsea and Tyler went on their first date back in 2013. They enjoyed a Sunday lunch at Stone Cellar Brewpub followed by a trip to the movie theater to see Despicable Me Two. From their first date, they each knew they had found someone special; someone who they could laugh with and just be themselves with. It wasn’t long until these two were spending every chance they could with each other. They knew they had found “the one.”
On their two year anniversary, Tyler proposed! They went back to where it all began for dinner, Stone Cellar Brewpub. After dinner, even though rain had started to fall, they took a walk on a nearby trail along the Fox River. Hand-in-hand, they strolled along and snuggled under their umbrellas. They stopped on a small concrete landing and while Chelsea watched the birds on the water, Tyler got down on one knee! She turned around suddenly and was so surprised! It was a moment full of love and suddenly the rain didn’t matter at all.
I’ve known Chelsea for years! Back to my high school days of working at the movie theater, a group of us would then head to IHOP after we closed up. That’s where I met Chelsea. A friend of one of my movie theater coworkers, she joined us for those late night pancake fixes and I immediately loved her! She was so fun and hilarious and outgoing! She sang songs and recreated musicals right in the middle of whatever we were doing. Her happy spirit and laughter was and still is completely infectious! So I was completely honored when she and Tyler asked me to photograph their wedding!!
When the big day finally arrived, it was beyond beautiful! Chelsea and Tyler had thought of everything to make their wedding fun and completely unique! Music is very important to them. Chelsea has performed in countless musicals and Tyler plays the violin. So when it came to the music selection for their wedding, I knew they would choose only the best! During the ceremony, a string quartet played “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and the theme song to “An American in Paris.” For their first dance, they swayed to Michael Jackson’s “The Lady in My Life.” So beautiful! The music, the details, and the people were all amazing! Their day was pure perfection, even though it rained all day, just like when Tyler proposed.
Congratulations Chelsea & Tyler! I wish you two a life full of joy, love, and laughter. I hope that you continue to find the best songs that represent your love for another!
