Carlie and Todd met in Mexico in January of 2014. They were both standing up for their friends’ destination wedding and for some reason they had never met before. Carlie was intrigued by Todd and knew she wanted to learn more about him. They had the best time together in Mexico and when they made it back to Wisconsin, they started dating.
After they were returning home from a different trip to Mexico a few years later, Todd proposed! Carlie remembers that day fondly, “We had just gotten back from our trip to Punta Cana for my sister’s wedding. Our dog Ziggy was staying with Todd’s parents while we were gone. When we got to his parents house, Ziggy came running out of the door wearing a sign that read ‘Mom, will you (finally) marry Dad?’ At first, I couldn’t read the sign and was just so excited to see our boy after 10 long days away! Once I read the sign I was in complete shock. I turned around and saw Todd on one knee with a beautiful ring in his hand. Obviously, I said yes!”
Now these two are planning for a beautiful Fall wedding this October. But before they say, “I do,” I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph an Engagement Session for them. We explored St. Norbert College’s campus, where Todd attended college, and it felt like the entire place was there just for us. No one else was around. We had the best time and even Ziggy made a guest appearance! I loved spending time with this couple and I cannot wait for their wedding!
