Emily and Alex met in August of 2012 while they were both attending University of Wisconsin-Madison. They both are huge music lovers, they play tons of different instruments. Their love of music bonded them together and it still plays a huge part in their lives today. Emily is a 5th-12th grade band teacher now and Alex is an aspiring web developer and on-the-side musician. Music even played a part in their proposal!
Alex had been working on proposing to Emily for a year. In January 2017, he began working on an album composed completely by him, of songs that he had written Emily over the past years (he wrote a song for Emily every year on their anniversary). He reworked all these songs and included interviews of people in Emily’s life saying the things they liked the best about her. On the night of their 6th anniversary, he played Emily the finished, published album “All of Me to You”, along with a slideshow of photographs from the past several years and proposed during the track “Alex’s Interlude”. How amazing is that?!
To celebrate their love, we created an adorable Engagement Session that feels like it’s straight out of The Notebook. Not in a cheesy way – in a totally romantic, sweet, and loving way! Geese, birds, and little caterpillars all kept trying to join our photo shoot too. I had an amazing time with Emily and Alex, their love for each other is so sweet. Emily also has one of the best laughs ever and you can really feel that joy coming through with these photos.
Congratulations Emily and Alex! I cannot wait for your wedding next June!
