When Alyssa, Colleen, and I set off to bring Kreativ to life, we already had a plan in place. On a 5 hour lunch date, we came up with the idea for this workshop and had every thing already mapped out. Truthfully, the brainstorming came easy for us because this is something we all wanted to do, something we all believe in. It’s the reason we started our Monday Boss Lady lunches in the first place. We believe as entrepreneurs, in following our passions, taking risks, yet still living balanced lives full of purpose and intention. We realized it’s our dream to help other creative entrepreneurs do the same!
This past Friday, all our dreaming and hustle came together to bring Kreativ to fruition. After months of planning and finding the perfect vendors, it was incredible to see the workshop space look even better than we envisioned it. Ebb and Flow Flowers created elegant hanging centerpieces and used sweet white tulips to line the center of the vintage farmhouse tables where all our guests would spend their time. Weathered WI provided the perfect custom wooden backdrop for all our photos and our favorite coffeeshop, Tempest Coffee Collective, delivered all the delicious food and coffee to keep us going throughout the day. Everything felt organic, fresh, renewing and looked more gorgeous than I could have imagined.
As workshop day started, we greeted our amazing attendees with coffee and treats as they arrived, surprised them with adorable swag bags, and helped them get settled in for the the watercolor class with Alyssa. After they created beautiful succulent paintings, we all enjoyed lunch together. A group yoga stretch to center followed lunch then we dove right into the business presentations. I started first with talking about two of my favorite things that every creative should be investing their time in, Instagram and Blogging! Seriously, I could talk for HOURS about these two! To help everyone settle and get ready for the last part of the day, L’aura Be Well joined us for a self-care break and led us in a guided heart mediation. Once we all felt centered and open, Colleen finished the day with her awesome presentation on business basics. Of course, we celebrated a FULL day of learning with some much needed Beyoncé and mimosas!
It was truly a gift to help and teach so many amazing creatives. I never want any new business owner to make the mistakes I did. Working so hard until I felt burned out, saying yes to work over my family, or pushing myself SO much that the rest of my life suffered. Life is about finding balance and doing all things with grace. Yes, building a business is full of hustle, but let’s not forget that this is the ONLY life we have! Let’s choose to celebrate it and fill our moments with joy too!
I’m so grateful to everyone who joined us for Kreativ! It was seriously a dream come true and I cannot wait to continue to help more creatives in the future! Thank you all so much!
“Where to even begin?! I am so grateful the three of you not only came up with the idea, but made it come to life. This was not your ordinary workshop, packed with brain-overloading content. It was a retreat — a way to step outside of our day to day grind and refresh. I left so deeply inspired and wished more of my friends were able to attend.” – Emilie Steinmann, Ooh Shiny Glass Art
“It’s so easy to get stuck in the mindset that a successful business is all hustle. Yet I’ve found that road only leads to burnout, and you can’t run a profitable business when you have nothing to give. The Kreativ workshop was the right set of balance on how to efficiently work hard in your business, and know why you’re working hard, and tips on how make time for much needed self care. From a unique water color class to help refocus and relax, priceless blogging tips to jumpstart more bookings, and business basics that will keep our businesses profitable – the Kreativ workshop was filled with everything needed to kick start my upcoming wedding season with a more balanced mindset. Shaunae, Colleen, and Alyssa care so much for other creatives, and seeing them find balance and success in their businesses. It was such a fun day surrounded by other creatives, learning them, and doing something fun for myself!” – Kyra Weyenberg, Kyra Rane Photography
“Gathering with other creative women in a comfortable environment, leads to many great conversations and openness. Thank you Kreativ for setting up a day that was well balanced and thought out! Attending Kreativ was a game changer! I left feeling energized and excited! It was really a great day! Meeting with other creatives and vibing off of each other really put a grin on my face that I still have whenever I think about it.” – Barbara Steen, make-up artist
Thank you to everyone involved in Kreativ to help make it a success! We couldn’t have done it without you!
