Yesterday, the Green Bay chapter for The Rising Tide Society gathered together to celebrate our one year anniversary of making waves here in our community! Wow, one year already! I seriously cannot believe it! Over this last year we have met 12 times, held two donation drives to help charity organizations, planned an awesome styled shoot, discovered many new local businesses, and met some amazing people along the way! I’ve watched over the year as complete strangers came together and are now best friends. I have seen members collaborate and create beautiful works of art. I watched as our group grew over the months and saw how eager and excited everyone was about Community Over Competition. That drive to help others and help our community hasn’t died down, if anything it’s growing stronger.
We went back to where it all started one year ago for our June meetup, Hello Lemon Studio. We enjoyed wine and delicious macarons from Cake and Cookie and an amazing assortment of meats and cheeses from infi.DELI.ty. We laughed as we discussed our favorite 4th of July and Father’s Day memories and what we were looking forward to doing this summer. After socializing and catching up with each other, we sat together to discuss pricing. Everyone openly shared how they go about pricing for their business and answered questions that other members had. As soon as we wrapped up our discussion, Hello Lemon owner, Kandace, led us in an awesome craft class! We each painted an anchor so we could set it on our desk or somewhere in our home to always remind us how important Community Over Competition really is.
The most surprising part of yesterday’s meetup came when I was speaking and introducing everyone to the group. Out of nowhere, Kandace and her sister, Sarah (owner of with love handmade), surprised me with a gift basket that GB Tuesday members contributed to and thanked me for all the work I’ve done over the last year for the Rising Tide Society! It was filled with all my favorite things; wine, a custom wine glass, cat books, awesome journals, lip balm, hand-written thank you cards, and a weekend trip to Door County! Of course, I couldn’t help but start crying!! I was absolutely shocked! I lead this group and put so much time, effort, and money into it because I truly believe it’s what our community needs and I cannot believe how sweet everyone was to think of me! I love them all so much!!
It’s been a pleasure and an absolute honor to lead this amazing group for the last year! I’m so proud of each and every one of our members and I cannot wait to see what this next year will bring!
My gift basket! I still cannot believe they surprised me! I could start crying all over again!
So thankful for my bestie and Hello Lemon Studio owner, Kandace, for opening her space to us and supporting me over this past year when I decided to take on leading our Green Bay Rising Tide Society group. Love you girl!!
