I’m a huge sucker for a theme party! You get to dress up in costumes! It’s probably why I love Halloween so much. Using your imagination to create something really fun and different is wonderful. I’m so happy that Matt agrees with me. Maybe he doesn’t get into Halloween as much as I do, but he’ll definitely go all out for a theme party.
Which brings us back to last Friday where we hosted our first Tom-Hanks-Giving party! We wanted to do a spin on the traditional Friendsgiving and also showcase our love for our favorite actor of all time, Tom Hanks. Because who doesn’t love Tom Hanks?!
We decorated the entire house with photos of Tom in his many different movies. Guests dressed as their favorite Tom Hanks character and we played his movies the entire night. We hosted a fun little Tom Hanks trivia quiz and had everyone vote on their favorite movie of his. I think the best detail of the night though were the adorable Tom Hanks themed cookies that Yield Bakehouse created for us! They were almost too cute to eat!
I’m obsessed with ’80s and ’90s Tom Hanks, so it was only natural that I dressed as Josh Baskin from the movie Big, complete with the FAO Schwarz piano. Matt dressed at The Conductor from The Polar Express, his favorite Christmas movie. Thankfully, everyone dressed up too and we celebrated T.Hanksgiving into the night. It’s our goal to make this magical night our annual November tradition. Because Tom Hanks deserved to be celebrated every year!
Thank you to everyone who attended! I think Tom Hanks would have loved this! Maybe he’ll join us next year!
Such a cute idea!! Love it!
