I had the privilege of photographing Sam & Byron this past Saturday at Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve. Their fun-loving and goofy energy made for a wonderful time. This couple was up for anything, when I asked them to have a seat on the ground, they did even though it was still wet and soaked through their pants. Instead of freaking out or jumping back up, they continued to smile and laugh and we created some great shots. With Sam loving photography herself, she brought along her Polaroid camera stocked with film Byron had given her for Christmas, to capture moments during our session.
Sam shared with me how her and Byron met and how he’s changed her life for the better. She says, “I have found my soul mate! I haven’t ever been the girly girl who dates around and wanted or needed to find a guy to make her happy. But one Sunday in October I saw Byron at Lambeau Field and I just took a little leap of faith. Now it wasn’t love at first sight. I am kind of a goofball at heart, so I just went up to him, grabbed him by the arms and made him a little embarrassed. My only intention at the time was just to get a rise out of my friend by saying I’d met him and he was cute. Well, two years later, here we are – dating, house hunting, and moving towards marriage. We are told all the time we have a wonderful energy when we are together. I cannot say I laugh more then when I sit down for a game night with him and our friends. He brings out the best in me and I couldn’t imagine a life without him.”
Thanks to Sunny from Ebb & Flow Flowers for creating a beautiful bouquet for our session!
