With Christmas just nine days away, I cannot stop smiling! This is my favorite holiday of all time and I’ve been in the Christmas mood since November 1st! My house is completely decorated, all three trees are up, the shopping is just about done, and the baking has just begun! The snow is starting to fall outside as I prep of the second annual STP Holiday Party inside. Seriously, could this time of the year get any better?!
In honor of this jolly and festive season, I’m sharing some of my favorite holiday traditions for today’s Fresh Brewed Friday! From decorating to gift wrapping, I enjoy every part of Christmas!
• Decorating my family home – it was always my job to put up our porcelain nativity scene, which I took very seriously.
• Watching Christmas movies! My favorites include Elf, The Santa Clause, Jingle All the Way, White Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, Love Actually, and anything on the Hallmark Channel.
• Attending Green Bay Botanical Garden’s Garden of Lights!
• Baking with my mom and my sister. Whether it’s at their homes or my home, it doesn’t matter. It’s always a blast when we are together! My sister and I always laugh as we try to cover each other in flour.
• Drinking hot cocoa! My favorite holiday drink (sorry eggnog and cider.)
• Sending out Christmas cards. I love sending sweet messages of holiday cheer to all my friends and family!
• Receiving Christmas cards! This is even better than sending them out. I proudly display every card I get!
• Gift wrapping. This has never felt like a chore to me, I have so much fun doing it even though the cats get in the way.
• Leaving out cookies and Diet Coke for Santa. Sounds weird, I know, but when my sister and I were young, my mom convinced us that Santa needed a break from milk (because she doesn’t drink it.) We totally believed her and joyfully left a cold can of Diet Coke out for Santa every year.
• Snow angels and sledding. As kids, my sister and I would dress is our warmest jackets and snow pants and go to the big hill behind our elementary school and slide down it all day long!
• Wearing feety pajamas and dressing up my cats in all sorts of funny holiday outfits!
• Throwing Christmas parties for my friends and clients! I love to host parties whenever I get the chance!
• Driving around to look at Christmas lights. My entire family would pile into the car on Christmas Eve after we had visited my grandmother’s house and my dad would drive us around as we searched for the houses with the best lights.
But the best tradition of all…
• Spending time with my friends and family. It doesn’t matter what we do, as long as we’re together.
