Patty
(mother of three)
I sent out an email and post to anyone that wanted to tell me about their mothers.
The email I received from Hanna (daughter of Patty) is one of my favorites ever.
“My mother is absolutely beautiful. Inside and out. She has the strength of a rhino, and the heart of an angel. She helped raise her sister and brother at the age of 18. Both her parents passed at a young age, causing her to be the watchtower. With that, she grew stronger and stronger, and found herself in a field of love, and passion to take care of people. She has worked at a few different retirement homes, helping the elderly. When meeting my father, she knew it was love at first site. They soon became a family and had 3 wonderful children (me! and my older brothers). She was the most sensitive, silly, loving, and most beautiful mother in the world. She taught me how important life was. She was a gardener, and always showed me how to take care of the special little plants that make this world smile. She never wanted time to be wasted, so she would always find a little project to be creating or learning from, most of her free time. When losing her eldest son to cancer, she broke. Being the one to look up to, it was the hardest part of my life to see her that way. Spending time through pain and suffering, she grew stronger and learned how to cope. She continued her life working and still helping others in need. Always thinking about others. Always smiling. Til this day she’s still finding little creative projects to accomplish, make, create, and try. Still smiling and full of energy. She’s taught me how be strong, and take life by the horns. With that being said, she’s the most important, courageous, impressive, beautiful, wonderful, inspiring person in my life. I don’t know where I’d be without her and her beautiful self.”
This is one of my most favorite images I have ever made
I cannot express enough how thankful I am, Patty and Hanna, for opening your home and story to me. I have a special place in my heart for your lovely family. Thank you!!
