“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.” -John Holmes
As we move into Part Four of our Attitude of Gratitude series, I think this post is definitely my favorite. We’ve discussed how to identify gratitude and how to use positive affirmations to make the most out of life but what about the lives of those around us? How do we help our loved ones live lives full of gratitude and joy too?
Lead by Example
The best way to help your friends live a life full of gratitude is to first lead it yourself. If your friends see you happy and thriving, they’ll want to follow in your footsteps. If we can be positive examples to those around us, it shows that anything is possible.
Shout it Out
If something is working in my life, I want to share it with the world! On social media and in my daily life, I’m constantly expressing my gratitude for all the wonderful things that I’ve been fortunate enough to receive. I’m an open book. By speaking such positive words into the world, it allows others to learn about leading this grateful-filled life too.
Extend a Helping Hand
Sometimes our friends face difficult times. Maybe life dealt them a hand they weren’t expecting. Maybe they are struggling more then we know. I truly believe it’s our job to help where we can. To be that shoulder to cry on, to be that friend that will listen without question, to offer words of advice or just be silent if needed. Be open to helping others, not only to get through tough times but to show them they still have so much to be grateful for. Open your heart and let your gratefulness flow through you. Be a vessel of happiness and thankfulness to those who need it most!
