Brandon and Hailey first met in high school. Brandon was two years ahead of Hailey and good friends with her cousin. They didn’t get to know each other very well until about five years later. After they both graduated, Hailey returned to their high school over her winter break from UW-Madison to watch her sister’s JV basketball game, only to find that Brandon was the coach! They started talking and hung out the entire time during her winter break. They finally “officially” started dating in January of 2012 and as they say, “the rest is history.”
On a weekend getaway to Door County last August, Brandon proposed! He had been planning for months, first by asking Hailey’s parents for their blessing. Then scheming with his friends to make sure they could come along so Hailey wouldn’t get suspicious, thinking it would just be another couples’ weekend. When they finally headed up to Door County, Hailey didn’t think anything was coming. It was a rainy weekend but they decided to explore Cave Point County Park anyway. Luckily, the rain stopped for a little while and Brandon knew that was his moment! He gave his friend the signal to go hide so he could photograph the whole thing without Hailey noticing. Hailey recalls this beautiful moment, “After enjoying the scenery, Brandon turned to me and said, ‘So, here’s the real reason I brought you out here…’ I immediately realized what was happening and blacked out! He said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, pulled out a ring, got down on one knee, and proposed. Through tears of joy, I happily said ‘yes!'”
I am overjoyed for this couple! Their kind hearts and fun spirits make them such a delight to be around! We met up for their spring-inspired Engagement Session at Crossroads at Big Creek just a few weeks ago. They looked too cute together, I loved all their real smiles and giggles! I cannot wait for their wedding this November at the Timber Rattlers Stadium!
Along with her beautiful engagement ring, Hailey also wore this ring that belonged to her grandmother!
Thanks to Ebb & Flow Flowers for the bouquet and Dana Michele Makeup for Hailey’s hair & make-up!
