Saint Simons Island has always held a special place in my heart. For years, I would visit my Aunt Joan who lived in Brunswick, Georgia and our family would spend as much time on the island as possible. My mother and I would walk the beach at sunrise and sunset, just listening to the ocean waves hit the shore. We would visit all the shops on the Pier and gaze up at the Spanish moss that would hang from the huge trees. This past week I had the chance to visit Saint Simons Island again, visit with family, and reminisce over so many wonderful memories. Island life – there is nothing else like it.
I’m seriously so drawn to islands (see my post on Washington Island) and I hope that one day I will have my own (like on HGTV’s Island Hunters.) Hey, a girl can dream!
