Jenny and Simon met in the Fall of 2015. Jenny was invited to watch a Packers game at Simon’s house. They didn’t talk much during the game but Simon’s dog, Lloyd, absolutely loved Jenny and stayed by her side. A few days later, Simon reached out and asked Jenny to dinner. They had a lovely time but they were both at different places in their lives. After their first date, they didn’t see each other for months but reconnected over Memorial Day Weekend. Simon asked Jenny out to brunch and the rest is history.
Simon proposed in the Fall of 2018. He planned a Date Day for them with different clues. The first clue took them to Stone’s Throw Winery where he bought Jenny a bottle of her favorite champagne. Then the next clue led them to a dive bar where they picked up Jenny’s favorite WI staple – cheese curds. His next clue took them to Cana Island Light House. Jenny remembers it well, “He was acting so funny while we waited to go to the top of the light house. Finally, he walked me over to a small beach away from the crowd and got down on one knee. We both started crying and it was so sweet!! Then, when we got back into the car, my next clue said ‘To my Fiancé’ which just made me melt.”
I’ve known Jenny for a few years now. We met through Pure Barre and it’s easy to want to be friends with her. She’s so upbeat and bubbly! I’ve had the wonderful pleasure to photograph her and Simon before and to photograph Jenny’s family. So when they asked me to be their wedding photographer, I said, “Of course!!” For their Engagement Session, we headed back to a few of Jenny and Simon’s favorite spots in Door County. This sweet couple lives in Sturgeon Bay so they wanted their shoot to reflect all the things they love the most.
Congratulations Jenny & Simon! I cannot wait for your wedding next May!
Thanks to Dana Michele Makeup for Jenny’s beautiful hair and makeup!
