Natalie and Kyle knew each other from elementary and middle school. They were actually in the same first grade class together. But Natalie’s family moved to Oshkosh her freshmen year of high school and the two weren’t reunited until ten years later. Their mutual friends got married and had a get-together at the beach for everyone to meet a month before the wedding. Kyle wasn’t available at the time but after another year later, the stars finally aligned and Kyle asked Natalie out for coffee.
They both felt so comfortable around each other so it wasn’t too long before Kyle proposed. Almost a year into officially dating, Kyle proposed at The Paine Art Center & Gardens! About a month beforehand Kyle had asked her parents for permission and enlisted the help of her high school best friend, Andrew. Andrew planned a fake housewarming party, inviting friends on Facebook and making it look very convincing. This got Kyle and Natalie up to Oshkosh that day and kept Natalie off the trail.
On the day of the proposal, a serious of mishaps (like forgetting to pack clothes for the weekend and hoping to get to The Paine on time) started happening and Kyle was getting nervous. When they finally arrived, they walked briefly around the gardens (while Andrew was watching from the mansion, dressed in disguise and ready to find them to capture the moment) and ended up at a little pond near the side entrance. Kyle gave Natalie a big hug. During this hug, Kyle told Natalie how much he loved her and how thankful he was to have her, then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Natalie was so surprised that she couldn’t even talk for a moment, but of course, finally said “yes!”
They returned to The Paine Art Center and Gardens a year after the proposal for their wedding day! They asked their friends to stand by their side as they vowed to spend forever together. Both Natalie and Kyle come from incredible families so they were showered with love all day long. It was such an honor to photograph their beautiful day!
Congratulations Natalie and Kyle! I know your life together will be full of amazing adventures and so much joy!
