Katelin & Max met while they were in college at Milwaukee. The were neighbors, living in the same four-plex building. One night, Kate and her roommates threw a party and invited all the neighbors, including Max. She spent the whole night talking to him about everything; from school, family, and Max’s recent trip to Paris (Katelin was studying French at the time.)
A bit of time passed and they started dating, for both of them it felt like they already knew so much about each other. And even when Max moved to Chicago to pursue his dream of becoming an architect and Katelin stayed back in Milwaukee for her graduate program, they were not the least bit worried about their relationship. It was around this big step in their lives that Katelin realized Max was the one for her. “Max had just moved to Chicago and we knew the next two years were going to be spent apart. It was around that time that I realized I had no fears about the next two years…we were going to be just fine, because I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. He’s my best friend and I couldn’t imagine it any other way,” Katelin shares describing their time together.
This past Christmas, with Katelin and Max now both residing in Chicago, they decided to enjoy as much of the Christmas activities Chicago had to offer. One lovely night, they headed to the Christkindlemarket and got spiced wine to drink while looking at all the Christmas windows and decorations. They meandered over to Millennium Park to watch the ice skaters then made there way over to the plaza. No one was there, a very rare occurrence because the Park is always packed with people. Max knew it was the right time and proposed to Katelin right in the plaza! She said, “YES!” and they celebrated the night away with champagne at the Drake Hotel. It was the most perfect night.
For their Engagement Session we visited all their favorite spots in Milwaukee, including where they first met and the cafe where they had their first date. Katelin looked stunning in her red dress as we explored Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward for the second half of our session. We had an amazing shoot and spent the whole time smiling and laughing.
Cheers to the wonderful Max and Katelin!!
