I could write for hours about how beautiful and amazing Chrissy and Phill’s wedding day was. I knew it would be because their Engagement Session was SO perfect. But then I heard Phill give his speech at dinner and I just knew that would be way better than anything I had to write. Phill has a way with words. For his vows and his welcome speech, he created poems! Here’s Phill’s speech that he was gracious enough to send over for me to share with this post.
“Thank you all for coming out tonight.
Many of you have traveled a long way, some even by flight.
Thank you to both of our parents and family.
Because of your efforts, this dream has become reality.
Special thanks to my now wife Christine.
It is because of her this evening has run like a well oiled machine.
It’s incredible to have you all here to share this moment with Chrissy and I.
We couldn’t have asked for a better location, matrimony at lakeside.
But what really makes this night special is our guests in attendance.
Spanning the course of our lives, you’ve all bared witness.
To our growth as individuals and development along the way,
All those memories we shared together have led us to this day.
Together we’ve grown up, studied, graduated, climbed, dived, skied, sailed and pedaled, sharing laughter
Although we’ve also had our fair share of mishaps, setbacks, disappointments, personal losses, failures,
It is these shared experiences that have formed bonds stronger than chemistry can describe,
And they will hold us together for as long as we are alive.
For we are only on this earth for a short little while,
Let us go forward and celebrate with style.
I raise a glass to our shared memories of the present and past,
And look forward to the many more to come, knowing they won’t be our last.”
Congratulations Chrissy & Phill! I wish you a life full of love, adventures, long bicycle rides, and even more poems!
Thanks to all the amazing wedding vendors that helped make Chrissy & Phill’s big day wonderful!
