Abby and Josh are married!! This winter, I photographed their Winter inspired Engagement Session at Abby’s Opa and Oma’s cabin in the north woods. It was so peaceful and personal. Their dog even made a guest appearance! I knew they would tie that same personal touch into their beautiful Autumn wedding!
On the first weekend of Fall, Abby and Josh said “I do!” Despite the fact that it was technically Fall, it was the hottest day of the year. Temperatures reached into the 90’s! But it didn’t matter, the wedding still took place right in the backyard of Abby’s grandparents’ house. Abby grew up in the house right next door to her grandparents, so this wedding ceremony space was more important than normal. So many memories playing in the backyard, running around with her friends, and spending time with family. Now, she begins her life with Josh right in that same special space.
Almost exactly a year prior to their wedding, Abby’s grandfather passed away. It was very important to incorporate him into this magical day. Not only did they have the wedding at his home, the boat that was docked right next to the ceremony space belonged to him. Abby and Josh also wanted to remember and honor Abby’s Oma who was like a mother/best friend to her. It was hard to not have these special people be a part of their day but I know they were with them in spirit.
Congratulations Abby and Josh! I wish you a lifetime full of love and I just know your family is SO proud of you both!
Thanks to my second shooter and assistant, Nicole Jolly, for all her help!
