Kari and Thomas met in high school Spanish class. Both had a little crush on the other but never pursued a relationship. It wasn’t until almost a decade later that they reconnected and went on their first date in February of 2017. They quickly became inseparable and have been together ever since.
Thomas proposed right after a beautiful snow storm in Chicago. Kari remembers it well, “We went for a walk to Belmont Harbor in Chicago just after one of our largest snow storms in February 2018. Tommy convinced me he wanted a break from studying for finals and wanted to go see how beautiful the harbor looked with the snow since it likely hadn’t been disturbed yet. We’ve walked along this harbor a few times, like on our first date which was a year earlier. This time on our February stroll through the harbor, Tommy stopped me and got down on one knee and asked me my favorite question I’ve ever had to answer.”
The happy couple was married right here in Door County surrounded by family members and friends. Everything about the day felt completely personal and perfect for them. I love that they had a clear tented reception so they could dance underneath the stars all night long. So beautiful!
Congratulations Kari and Thomas! I wish you the best and I hope your life is full of great adventures!
How cute is this sweet little puppy?
Even though they didn’t have a traditional bridal party, Kari was still surrounded by so many awesome ladies!
Such a beautiful bride!
Oh my goodness, these little ushers and ring bearer are too cute!
One of the flower girls was crying and the ring bearer was trying to “help” her smile. Too funny!
Kari’s mom was her matron of honor and Tommy’s brother was his best man! Kari’s aunt also officiated the wedding!
Married! Woohoo!
The happy newlyweds!
Their honeymoon will be spent in this Airstream as they travel the country!
So many amazing friends and family members helped make this day so special!
I love when couples have donuts at their wedding! These were amazing!
Cheers to the bride and groom!
The Blue Water Kings were incredible!
Thank you Chives for bringing delicious tacos and nachos for a late night snack!
Thanks to all the amazing wedding vendors that helped make Thomas & Kari’s big day wonderful!
