It was a chilly, Monday morning when I checked my phone and noticed I received a voicemail. It was from my sweet friend and fellow Pure Barre enthusiast, Jordan. She was calling to tell me, her and her boyfriend, Josh were getting a new puppy and they wanted to schedule a puppy photo shoot. Excited, I called her back and we chatted about her adorable new dog. When we finished, she said she had one more thing she wanted to ask me. After that conversation, we went to work planning one of the coolest things I’ve ever been a part of!
Jordan and Josh had secretly gotten engaged but they didn’t want to have a traditional engagement or wedding. They wanted to do something big and amazing! They’ve been together for seven and a half years, so people expected they would get married at some point. Because of this, Jordan and Josh wanted to create a huge surprise for them. They set a date and had Josh invite all their family members and friends to attend the “proposal,” encouraging guests to keep it a secret from Jordan! But really, the surprise was on them! When guests arrived, they were actually attending their WEDDING!
Of course, I knew and it was one of the hardest things to keep secret! I helped plan the timeline of the day so we could pull off the surprise without anyone seeing them. Thankfully, they told their parents, siblings, and bridal party members so we could do all portraits ahead of time. Then, they all went into hiding while guests arrived. Once the surprise was revealed, guests cried and cheered the entire ceremony. It was one of the most magical moments I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph.
Congratulations Jordan & Josh! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this special moment.

Rockwood Terrace inside Ariens Hill served as the perfect location for this surprise wedding.
Guests watched a video where they found they were actually guests at a WEDDING not a proposal! In the video, it actually showed the real proposal too. Their reactions are priceless!

Jordan’s father sadly passed away but his spirit was still a part of this incredible day. They played a slideshow with photos of him and everyone was tearing up. Such a beautiful moment.
Thanks to all the amazing wedding vendors that helped make Jordan & Josh’s big day wonderful!
