Matt and I just returned from our vacation to Riviera Cancun and we are feeling so grateful. We met up with a group of our friends to celebrate all of our birthdays for the year since we live all over the country and cannot be together on our actual birthdays. We swam all day, enjoyed delicious food and drinks, laughed too hard, and danced the nights away. It was exactly what we all needed.
This group of friends Matt met while he was attending Iowa State University. When I first met them last year, they could have easily excluded me from the group since I didn’t share any memories with them. But instead they welcomed me with open arms! Seriously, they are the nicest people! Their kindness and willingness to bring me into their circle warmed my heart. I’m so thankful to call them my friends too.

This was also one of my first trips in a LONG time where I didn’t even bring my laptop. I didn’t sneak any work in either. I felt completely at ease putting work on the back burner and putting loved ones first. But it has made it a little bit harder to jump back into work now. It’s nice to have structure again but I’m missing the warm weather and the water.
Cheers to this vacation! I’m ready to plan one for next year!
