Katie and Aubrey met in 2005 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where they both attended. As soon as they saw each other, there was an immediate attraction and the two planned their first date for Valentine’s Day. They enjoyed a delicious dinner together, Aubrey taught Katie the importance of ordering dessert after meals, and the two talked for hours! They talked so long that they were the last people left in the restaurant! They both knew there was an instant connection between them, what they didn’t know was that it would last a lifetime.

After many beautiful years of dating, Aubrey proposed last summer. The two were back in Michigan visiting Aubrey’s family and decided to take the northern route to stop and visit Mackinac Island. Aubrey nervously carried the ring in his pocket during the entire boat ride. As soon as they made it to shore, he popped the big question!! Katie said, “Yes!” of course and some fellow visitors generously snapped photos of the event! The best part is, their adorable blue pit bull, Balu, was right by their side during the entire proposal!

The two returned to Madison along with their family and friends, the city where the two first fell in love, for their gorgeous Edgewater Hotel wedding. Katie, with the help of her wonderful friend, Christine, planned the most elegant wedding with the prettiest details possible! Everything was perfect! From the lovely table linens, to the candelabra centerpieces, to the soft candlelight – each and every detail was thoroughly thought out. My favorite details were all the wonderful accessories Katie wore to compliment her beautiful wedding dress. They suited her perfectly, she looked stunning from head to toe. I was absolutely OBSESSED with her wedding shoes! They are probably my favorite pair of shoes I’ve ever photographed. The entire day was a complete dream (even though it rained right before the ceremony!) and it was an honor to be with this amazing couple and their wonderful families on their big day!

Congratulations Katie and Aubrey! I wish you a lifetime full of love and happiness!
