I’m so excited to share Maddy and Mason’s Washington Park Arboretum Engagement Session! This adorable couple actually met in high school in 2012. It was so cute to hear about some of their favorite moments together. They both said one of their favorite memories was right before they started dating, Mason asked Maddy to wear his football jersey at one of his games. How sweet is that?!

Over the years their relationship has only grown deeper and stronger. They attended different colleges, each of them playing collegiate sports for their schools, which made their relationship long distance. Those years helped them realize how much they wanted to be together and after a few more years they officially got engaged on 12/12/21!

Maddy shares their proposal story, “Mason proposed to me in Maui. I was not expecting anything to happen because we were with his work friends and so I was just viewing it as a work trip. Little did I know that Mason had the ring the whole trip and each thing that we did that weekend he was trying to plan out the perfect moment to get down on one knee to propose. So we got to the last night and we had a full day planned. We were doing to do the road to Hana and then we had a luau planned for dinner at the end of the night. Well none of us in the group had expected how long that would have taken and how much driving was involved.

We get to the luau and Mason is slowly panicking because the sun is starting to set and he was adamant about getting down to the beach to take pictures. We finally get onto the beach and walk towards the water. We walk down holding hands and Mason starts talking about how beautiful the view is and how he is so happy that he was there in that moment with me. So I knew something was up because he was just getting very sentimental just to be taking pictures together. We were still holding hands and he starts to move away from me. I turn and look and he is getting down on one knee and I start to freak out and try to listen to all the sweet things he is saying. I was in complete shock and was not expecting it at all. I was so happy and it was such a fun night spent at the luau celebrating our engagement.”

Before their wedding this summer, we celebrated their love with a beautiful Engagement Session at one of my favorite places in Seattle, Washington Park Arboretum. The weather was perfect and we even had a few blooms out. It was a joy to spend this time with Maddy and Mason and I cannot wait for their wedding in just a few months!
