Back in the fall, I received the sweetest call from Jessica. She wanted a special Christmas gift for her father – a portrait session with all her siblings and their children so he would have family photos to proudly display on the walls of his home. Of course I said, “YES! What a great idea!” She presented him with a gift certificate for photos with the promise that I would meet up with everyone in the summer.
Kyle and I drove up to Egg Harbor about two weeks ago where Jessica’s father, Jim, lives. His house was gorgeous and he explained to me that it had been in the family for over 100 years and his father was actually born there! His whole family gathered together at his house, almost like a little reunion. They do this every year, it’s a chance for everyone to spend time with one another and relax.
The Wagners were so fun and kind, it was an absolute honor to photograph them. When I wasn’t shooting, I spent most of my time chatting with Jim. He had so many stories to share with me and I honestly could have listened for hours, enjoying every moment. One of my favorites though was when he told me he learned ballroom dancing. He absolutely loves it and tries to dance whenever it’s possible.
Thank you for welcoming us into your home, Wagner Family!
