When Matt and I first talked about eloping, I REALLY wanted to have our ceremony in Big Sur. It’s one of my favorite places of all time. I don’t know what it is, but that magical place just pulls me in. When we started researching more, we realized it would be pretty inconvenient for our family and friends to actually make it to Big Sur. So we chose Santa Barbara for our wedding but with one condition, we would drive up the coast for another photo shoot in Big Sur a few days later.
We made it happen and what was even better was that I had my amazing friend, Austyn of Austyn Elizabeth Photography, photograph us. She is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet! After only meeting her twice a few years ago, she let me stay with her and her family when I visited California two years ago. She welcomed me in with open arms and I knew I wanted to be friends with this incredible lady forever.
She graciously drove up to meet us and we went on an adventure through Big Sur. We started at Bixby Creek Bridge and made it all the way down to Pfeiffer Beach. I cannot tell you how absolutely amazing and magical our photo shoot felt. It was like we were committing ourselves to each other all over again! I’m so happy I had the chance to share one of my favorite places with Matt and that we have these incredible images now. I seriously start to cry when I see just how beautiful they are. They completely represent us – the wind blowing like crazy, me walking around barefoot, lots of laughter, and holding each other close. These images are us; a team, now and forever.
Thank you Austyn for this incredible experience! I will cherish these images always!
